Smart Mailbox Project
This project involved the design and development of a smart mailbox system aimed at improving package security and remote monitoring. The system integrates a camera, multiple sensors, an electronic locking mechanism, and an alarm to detect and respond to mailbox activity in real time. Sensors monitor door state and motion, while the camera provides visual verification of deliveries and access events.
In addition to the hardware components, we developed a companion app that allows users to remotely monitor and control the mailbox. The app provides live status updates, camera access, and control over the locking mechanism, enabling users to securely manage deliveries and receive alerts when activity is detected. The alarm system triggers on unauthorized access, adding an additional layer of protection. This project required coordinating hardware integration with software development, focusing on reliability, responsiveness, and secure communication between the mailbox and the application. It demonstrates my ability to work across embedded systems, software development, and system design to deliver a complete, real-world solution.
